Matthew Cooney is the Executive Director of the Brookline Teen Center and was responsible for its build out and bringing the vision of a youth center in Brookline to an operational reality. Trained as a clinical social worker at Boston College, graduating in , Matt worked first as a clinician with adolescent girls in a residential treatment center specializing in trauma and substance abuse at Germaine Lawrence in Arlington MA. In , Matt moved to the Walker School, first as a Program Director and then as Director of Residential Services overseeing both long term and short term residential programs until June of At which point he came back to his Brookline roots and took on the challenge of opening the new Brookline Teen Center. Matt is a father of three, lives in Brookline and is a graduate of Brookline High.

The Girls Circle Association model, a structured support group for girls from years, integrates relational theory, resiliency practices, and skills training in a specific format designed to increase positive connection, personal and collective strengths, and competence in girls.

The New Edgies Teen Center is committed to empowering New York City teens ages , ensuring that they have the skills, resources, and opportunities to achieve their full potential. While in our program, Edgies teens receive individual guidance from highly-qualified staff as well as access to immersive professional studios, academic enrichment including college prep, sports and recreation activities, and leadership development programs.
